Day 4- A Picture of your Night

Rob and I have kind of fallen into the habit of, after dinner, we sit down together and maybe watch a basketball game, or dodger game, or something, and then it sometimes turns into this:

Rob will play call of duty, and I will read a book and occasionally watch him play, or sometimes play myself. Its a lot of fun to watch (a lot better then halo) Rob and 4 brothers sometimes are all on at the same time, and its so much fun to watch them, and listen to them via blue tooth. They like to trash talk, and sometimes it is so entertaining!

While this is not our every night activities, I would definantly say that it has happened once or twice in the carter home :-)

Day 3- A picture of the cast from your favorite TV show(s)

Greys anatomy has been one of my favorite shows since the begining.

Rob and I both like watching Criminal minds, the story lines are sometimes really intersting.

Rob started watching the first season of this show on his breaks at work, and now we have seen all 5 seasons. I find this show so funny, and I love all the different chanracters. Its definantly a great show!

Day 2- A picture of you and the person you have been closet with for the longest

Momma Ludlow

I have been closest to my mom for the longest. She has always been there for me. and I hope to one day be the kind of mother to my kids, that she has been to me.

A picture of us with 15 facts

1- Rob and I have been married for just over a year, and have known each other for almost 2 years.

2- I am almost 25, and Rob is almost 32. we are almost 7 years apart. The prefect age difference if you ask me.

3- My Husbands full name is Robert Amos Hoomanuawnui Carter. I have been able to say his middle name since the first week we met, but I have only known how to spell it for a little over a month or so.

4- I am rather terrified of heights, whereas Rob loves to skydive and wants to go bungie jumping. He is definanaly more daring then I am.

5- There are 2 things I want to do before I die. Travel the World, and have kids. Too bad they dont work hand in hand together.....

6- I am kind of a geek. I love to read, and I usually have a book with me at all times.

7- I wish I was crafty. I love doing wood crafts, but I long to be as crafty as my sister Brittany, who seems to be able to do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING.

8- If you combine Robs family and mine, we have 5 parents, around 18 kids, about 50 neices and nephews (they span from the age of about 23 to in the womb), and one great nephew (my neice has a baby). Needless to say, Family gatherings can be a lot of fun.

9- I have been to 7 states. Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, California, Nevada, Texas, and Colorado.

10- I hate to go shopping for clothes. I can never find anything I like. It is kind of depressing

11- Rob lived in California and Texas while he was growing up, went on an LDS mission to Argintena, and has lived in California, Hawaii, and Utah since. And if he got his way, we would not live in Utah.

12- I am a very shy person, but most people dont know that. I have learned over the years that you can accomplish a lot more by acting confident. To do so, I have to really leave my comfort zone.

13- I hate the questions "what is your favorite movie" "What is your favorite TV show" and "Who is your favorite artist/band" because I am never able to answer them, and if I do, I immedietly want to change my answer.

14- I work for a mortgage company, and Rob is currently working for a credit union.

15- My family is the most important thing to me.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

As you all know, Rob loves baseball. He loves to play it, watch it, listen to it. Basically he will do almost anything if it has to do with baseball. He has always played on the same softball team since we met. I love watching him play softball, its realaxing, and Rob has some good friends on his team, and I have even made some friends with the Wives. This year, Rob was able to find a Mens league baseball team. The pictures below are of him at his first baseball game.

Working Time Blues

Ever since returning to work after my surgery, I have been burnt out. It used to be that I loved my job, and that I found it satisfying. That is not the case anymore. These days, it feels more like I am babysitting. I have been thinking about switching departments for some time now, but I have not wanted to "abandon" my team, especially since we are getting busier, and are only at 3.5 people, doing 6 or 7 peoples amount of work.

I was talking with someone that used to be on my team (actually- he is the .5 person who helps out when his department is slow, or we are crazy busy) I told him that I felt like I was burnt out, and I was not enjoying work as much as I had in the past. He then let me in on a team "Secret". One of the girls on his team was leaving, therefore her position would be opening up. I thought about it a matter of seconds, and decided I wanted her position. While I didnt think I would like that position specifically, it was a stepping stone for an even better position. While I would probably not be happy with my job during those "stepping stone" months, I thought it would be better in the end, and a change of pace from what I have been doing for the past year. One of the up sides of this, was the manager, is the same manager I have, and we work really well together. She knows who I am and how well I work, as well as my strengths and weaknesses. When I was done talking to my friend, I went into my bosses office, and asked if we could schedule a meeting to talk about my future with the company. We set up a time, and I got all of the sudden really nervous. I started doubting my decision, mainly because everything that could go wrong on my team-did.

My meeting was scheduled for Monday morning, and all weekend i was second guessing myself. After thinking about it all weekend, I decided I was going to go through with the meeting. I didnt know exactly what I wanted to say, let alone how to say it, and I was really nervous. When I went into my meeting, one of the first things that came out of my mounth were "Im really burned out with the disclosure department" I imedietly wished I could have taken it back, that was not really how I wanted to cross this bridge with my boss. I was a little apprehensive about my boss's response, until she said something along the lines of " I know you have been, I expected to have this conversation 3 or 4 months ago." I told her that I didnt want to abandon the team, especailly since we have been so busy, and they lack the training that I have as TeamLead. But for the sake of my sanity, I needed to do something different, that challenged me, and pushed me to be better. I no longer felt that in this position.

It ended up being a great conversation, and while I learned that she is not filling the position that I originally thought I wanted- Which I later realized that I dont really want it. She told me of the changes that she was making to her Processing department, and that really excited me. She was working on totally re-doing how the team works, and she said there was a job for me somewhere within the department. She is getting the plans written up, and then they have to be approved by our corporate office, and then the branches, but I am very excited and hopeful. She may not know anything for about 30 days on what is approved, but we decided that was for the best, because I could train my team on how to handle the problems, what to look for, and complete the training material we have been working on for about 6 months on and off. It will also give me time to get some additional training on different systems that our company uses.

All in all, I am very excited that I met with my boss. Even if the job doesnt come through-she told me specifics, but I am not going to indulge you with them, I dont want to jinx it- We talked about me still moving on, and getting even more expreience. Im glad that she is willing to work with me, and she sees that I need to do something more than what I am doing now. I love the company I work for, and I love learning everything that I have, Im just ready to learn more.

I cant help being hopeful! hopefully I am in for some kind of change in reguards to work!

The Happiest Place On Earth

Disneyland has always been one of my favorite places to go, I have always had fond memories of "The Happiest Place on Earth" I remember the first time my family went to disenyland. We got it as a christmas presant when I was in my early elemently school years, probably 3rd or so grade. I remember feeling so overwhelmed when we first walked into the park. I was afraid of most of the rides, and I was too small to go on some of them, but it was the best christmas persant we could have gotten.

My Next memory of disneyland was when I was in 5th or so grade. All of my siblings went up to our cabin, and I was not allowed to go with them. I remember driving to the grocery store with my parents, when my mom asked my dad what he wanted for dinner, and he said Knotts Berry Farm. my mom laughed it off, and I didnt think anything else of it. The next day my mom picked me up from school, and said we had to run an errand, and it was a secret. The next thing I know, we are at a travel agents office, getting hotel and tickets for disneyland. I had to keep it a secret for about 2 or 3 days, when my siblings left for the cabin, we loaded up the car, and drove to California for our 4 days of Disney fun. It was a lot of fun going on rides with my parents, and having the whole trip be about me. When we got home, we found out that the Cabin trip got rained out, and they got home early. they had to call my grandpa and ask where we were, and told them.

I have been to disneyland a lot since those trips. My dad worked for jet blue, so we flew free, and all had season passes. We would go down for weeks, weekends, or just a random day. I have gone down during christmas time with my mom and mindi to do some "christmas" shopping, and do a ride or two.

The last time we went to disneyland was almost 3 years ago, and we did not have such a wonderful time. The whole family went to California, except my brother. We all flew in at different times, and there was some troubles with getting a hold of my dad, who was flying in later than my mom, Brittany, and I. I dont want to go into details, but this trip to disnyeland uncovered my dads afair, and it was the start of the end of my parents 30 year marriage. Needless to say, I didnt think Disneyland is the "Happiest Place on Earth" anymore.

Since that last time in disneyland, I have wanted to go back with Rob, and make brand new happy memories. Rob is not a big Disneyland fan, he perfers Magic Mountain and we just havent had time to spend more than a day or two in California. We were planning on going Back east in June, to go to some baseball games, and see all the sights, but we have had a change of plans. We are now going to California. We are going to go on a cruise to Mexico for a week, and then spend a week going in LA, going to a few baseball games, as well as Disneyland and Magic mountain. I am so excited for this trip! I know its not back east, and we are still planning on going back east sometime, but I think this trip will be just as fun. Neither of us have been on a cruise, so we are adding new and old. I am most excited for disneyland though, because I get to make new memories, with the guy I am crazy about, and my best friend!

Chopped!

I have wanted to do something different with my hair for quite sometime, but I didnt know what I wanted to do. I finally made the apointment, and had a few ideas for what I wanted to do. I was so torn on the idea of cutting it all off, or keeping the long length. I was planning on cutting it all off in October, when it was long enough to Donate to Locks of Love. Well, needless to say, it was long enough, and this was the result. I was not planning on cutting my hair this short, but I am glad I did, and I was glad i was able to donate it. I am still in the adjustment stage, and I am getting more and more used to it, but I am so glad I did it!
