Let Freedom Ring!

---On June 28th, We started house and dog sitting for Rob's parents and grandparents while they went to California for our nieces baptism. The first night (Thursday) I was a little nervous. It was the first night that I had ever slept there, and Rob had to work, so I was in the house all alone. I decided to go to bed early, so I didn't freak myself out all night. I fell asleep relatively quickly, but woke up for some unknown reason at about 3AM. (I usually wake up several times a night to use the bathroom, but this time, there really wasn't a reason to wake up) I rolled over, opened my eyes wondering if the reason I woke up was the dog, but she was fast asleep. Then I noticed there were flashing lights outside the window, and the front of the house. Of course, I had to get out of bed and "investigate" all I could see were 8 police cars, a guy getting put in a squad car, his car being searched, and some cops searching the yard. I was a little freaked out, and finally had to close all the doors so I could no longer see the flash of the lights. (You would be amazed and the number of worst case scenarios that can run through your head when you are 6-ish months pregnant.)Needless to say, Friday was a long day at work. If only that would have been the only excitement that day... About 45 minutes before I was off work, I hear that Herriman was on fire (again). That is NOT what you want to hear when you are house/dog sitting for your in-laws. I find out there are mandatory evacuations, I didn't know where the evacuation areas were, but I decided I should probably call robs parents and tell them, and get a list of things to grab in case their house had to be evacuated. When I got to Herriman, I was revealed that I didn't have to evacuate like they had to with the fire 2 years ago. However, our good friends Tony and Loni also live in Herriman, up at the cove, and I knew they were being evacuated. I called them to see if they needed my help getting there stuff all together. There was no answer, and then Loni finally called me back about 10 minutes later. They were at the pool in Lindon, and had NO idea what was going on. I told them I would go and see if I could get there stuff. There house was locked, and the lady that lives upstairs was not home, and was not planning on coming home to get anything. Luckily, the neighbors had the garage code, and after some persuasion, They let me in. I was on the phone with Tony when I got inside, he is telling me what to get, and after being down stairs for about 2 minutes, When a cop came down and told me I had to get out RIGHT THEN. I felt so bad that I couldn't get everything that they wanted. As I loaded the car, I could see the flames burning down a house from there driveway. It was really sad. I took the stuff to Rob's parents, and met up with Scott, then Rob got home (He was working, but they sent him home when they found out we were in Herriman for the weekend) and then Tony and Loni came over. It was super stressful, and very scary. On the plus side, we got to spend the weekend with Tony and Loni. Luckily their house was okay, and they were able to go back home Saturday night. Here is Rob and Cricket, I had to take a picture to send to Robs grandparents, so they knew she was still alive. :)

---The 4th of July was Semi uneventful. I went to the west Jordan parade with my sister Mindi, her 3 kids, and I took my sisters 2 kids. It was super hot, and I got a pretty good sunburn from sitting in the sun. It didn't hurt, but I was super hot that night while trying to sleep. After the parade, I took a nap, then had a BBQ with my sister and her husband and the kids (Rob had to work) then later that night we watched the kids play with their "pop" fireworks. ---On July 7th, Rob had a baseball tournament in Smithfield Utah. Rob recruited some of his brothers to play. In all, it was Rob, Scott, McKay, and Tony. The boys (Scott and Rob) took the bikes. While Big Mac and I drove up in my car. The rain started coming down when we got off the freeway in Brigham City. It was at this time when Trisha decided to get into the car with me and Mac. I felt bad that the boys had to ride in the rain. The games were fun. Robs Dad and grandpa came up to watch them too. I think Rob really enjoyed having his grandpa there cheering him on. Rob made me a proud baseball wife when he hit a 2-run home run. It was fun watching all the boys play together. If only Brent could have been there too...
We missed you Brent!!
---July 10th, Rob and I had a doctor appointment. This was the dreaded "Gestational diabetes" test. The drink was super nasty, but luckily I was able to keep it down (there were a few close calls) The Doctor checked her heartbeat, and size, and everything is still looking great. I got the results of the test yesterday and no gestational diabetes- although my iron is still low despite the iron supplement i take in addition to the prenatal vitamins. Our next appointment in July 30th (which is 3 weeks from our last one. After that, we are down to every 2 weeks. I cant believe we are almost to the end!!
---July 14th I went to seven peaks with my family. It was Jet blue day. The weather didn't play well, and it rained a lot of the time, but when it finally stopped, we had fun. I couldn't do a whole lot of fun, but I did have fun in the wave pool. Chloe loved it, and Korbin fell asleep in the middle of the waves. Dallin fell asleep on a slide, not while waiting in line, but while going down the actual slide. HA HA. Since the weather was so bad, we get to go back. WAHOO!! That pretty much is the watered down version of an update. Here are some odds and ends: Rob and I are making good progress on getting our sealing clearance. We are really hoping to be sealed before the baby comes. I got a new calling in our ward. I am primary secretary. This calling caused me a lot of anxiety and stress, but after doing it for 2 weeks, I am feeling more confident and comfortable. and here is a random picture- Korby loves to give baby girl kisses, He pulls up my shirt if I am holding him, and gives a kiss, lifts his head up, laughs, then does it again and again. Its super cute. I love it!

  1. Yay for an update! I'm so glad everyone's houses weren't damaged by the fire. (at least not your family or friend's houses)
