Crafty Girls

Ok, so It seems like everytime I look at blogs, it seems like someone new has taken up a craft, or showing a new recipie, or something along those lines. Its really making me want to learn more things. I dont think I am a bad cook, but I do tend to make the same things over and over agian, because I know Rob likes them. So up until now, I have not really felt a need to go out of my comfort zone. It is not just cooking and baking, its Wood crafts, and scrapbooking, and card making, and everyhting! I have enjoyed doing these things in the past, I just have not done them a whole lot, and i have not done some things for quite some time. like scrapbooking. I really want to get all the pictures up until now of me and Rob, because once we have a baby, I think those pictures would be a priority, and Rob and I's would be put on a back burner. So my question for all of you, is how do you do it? how do you find the time, how do you get your ideas? and do you guys do it on your own, or do you have get togethers with your friends and family? I know I want to make some more wood things, like my GRINCH, I want to do "CARTER" and/or "FAMILY" and maybe the seasons, just something to display in our home. If anybody is interested in that, please let me know, and we will find a day and time, because those kinds of things are more fun together. :-)

Better Late Than Never

So I know that Christmas has come and gone, but I wanted to write a little about it, being that this blog is a journal of sorts. So with that said, Here is a short blurb about christmas. I was able to go to Rob's Familys house for Christmas Eve Brunch. Rob had to work again, so I went without him. I love his family so much, and they are all so great and welcoming. I am the luckies girl in the world to have such great in-laws. Later that night, Rob and I went over to my Mom's and had dinner with my family. When dinner was over, Rob and I got home and "Exchanged" gifts. Rob got a new snowboard, and all the things that go along with that, so he didnt really have anythingt open, since he picked everything out himself. I got a new memory card for my Camera, an iTunes gift card, Taylor's Swifts new CD, and a Nook. On christmas morning, we went back to my moms and had breakfast, and opened some presents. After all the presents, and breakfast, we went back up to Rob's parents and hung out with them, and his 2 brothers. Christmas was a lot of fun this year, and it was our first one as a married couple, so it is deffinantly one to remember!

New Years eve was pretty uneventful, Rob and I watched Batman, and then we were getting ready to call it a night really early, but Rob's Brother Scott text and said he was bored, so he came over, and we hung out (hung out meaning, I fell asleep on the living room floor) until Rob woke me up about a minute to midnight. I said Happy New Years, gave Rob a kissed, and went to bed. Scott stayed the night, and I am not even sure what time they went to bed, but I was Asleep when Rob came to bed. LOL. Im glad Scott came over, because I was feeling pretty boring, and him hanging out with Rob made me feel a little better. LOL

Since the Holidays, We havent really been up to too much. Mostly working. I posted one or two posts ago about my Surgery, and after talking it over with Rob, we have put it off until early March. So I get a few more months to worry about it, but it will be so worth it, and I am glad we decided to put it off until then. The Other, and most exciting thing that is going on with us, is that we are having fun (albeit, its a little stressful) but we are going back east!! We finally got out airfair for our trip, and things are starting to feel real! Our plan is to go back east, and go to Philadelphia, Boston, Washington DC, and New York! We are going to a baseball in each city, while spending most of our time in New York. The day I am really excited about is June 15th (we are leaving June 7th and coming home June 21st) June 15th is Broadway day. We are going to go see WICKED!! ON BROADWAY! I also want to go to New Jersey and get some dessert from Buddy, from TLC's Cake Boss. I love that show, and I Think it would be a great day for dessert, and a perfect addition to wicked. I mean, What better way to spend your 25th Birthday!! So Im just hoping the next few months goes by really quickly and we can go on our trip!

something to make your mouth water, and an update

Hello Blogger friends! Its been a crazy little while since I last blogged. Last time I blogged, I was sitting in the living room of our townhouse, and now I am sitting in my living room at the new basement apartment. Thats right, the big move has come and gone. In short, I really like the new place. The only adjustment we have really faced is going from 2.5 bathrooms, to 1. Other than that, things are great here. We moved on a Saturday with the help of great family and friends, and my saturday night I was unpacked, and my Christmas tree was up and decorated. :-D Work is going well for both of us. Rob was in a Mortgage training for the past two weeks, while I have just been busy at my job. Im excited for Christmas to be here, It will be fun to celebrate "Our First Christmas" Im pretty excited about it. On the other hand, having christmas pass, means the new year starts, and shortly after the new year I am going under the knife. I am super nervous. I have to get my gaullbladder out. I know it is a minor surgery, but I have never had anything like this done, I have not even had stitches...EVER. Needless to say, the panic is starting to kick in. On a happier note, I wanted to share a new recipie I got from one of Rob's Coworkers with all you blog buddies! They are super yummy chocolate Oreo Balls. They were really easy to make.

All it calls for is a package of Oreo's, an 8oz pkg of cream cheese, and a package of Andie's mint chips. You use a food processor to chop the oreos. then you add in the creemcheese, mix them well. Then you roll them out into balls and let them sit in the fridge until they are a little harder. Then you melt the chips, dip the balls in, and let them set on some wax paper. they are wonderful. I even took some pictures for ya ( a little documentation of my journey.) ENJOY

Wheeler Farm November 7th, 2010

small update

WOW. It has been such a long time since i posted, atleast I did well for a little while. I have had a few people ask for an update, so I will give a short one. Work is going really well for me. Im really loving my job, and hopefully things will be getting even better. Rob is still at the same branch, and he really likes it there. Rob and I hung out with some of his co-workers the Friday before Halloween. His Manager does a Scavanger hunt around the valley, and I got to go along. I was really nervous because i didnt really know anybody and Rob was going to be at one of the locations scaring, so I went with a really cute girl named Jo, and We had a lot of fun. Robs costume was awesome! I wish I would have gotten a picture of it. He also dressed up in a different costume for friday at work. he did such a good job with his makeup. We finally found a place to move to, since our Lease is up in mid December. Its in South Jordan, and I am really excited to go there, but I am dreding, and semi-stresing about the actual moving part. We are hoping to move the first weekend of December, and Im praying the weather is on our side. I didnt think I could beat my 7 minute commute to work that I have now, But as soon as one of the roads open, I am looking at a 5 minute commute-tops. In fact, at work we just moved upstairs, and I can see the neighborhood from our windows. Its pretty sweet! Rob's old mission companion, and one of his best friends just got married, and since then we have hung out a lot with them, as well as 3 other couples. It has been so much fun! We are making a lot of plans to hang out even more. I got a new Camera, and I want to get into the photography business, so I have had a little bit of fun playing around with it. I have a new Blog for my photography, it is Carterographies.blogspot.com. Rob and I also got family pictures done with my family, I will put those pictures up soon! Other than that, nothing really exciting has been happening. Rob did end up getting 5 stitches in his hand today. He was at work getting some brownies out of a pan, and the knife won. :-( Other than that, we havent really been up to much. We are just busy with work, school (Rob), and hanging out with friends, Life is pretty great. I will try to be better at this, but until then......
