Rockin' and Rollin'

Rob and I had our first "Official" prenatal visit with the doctor, March 8th. I was super excited to see our baby again and hear a heartbeat. The morning of our apt I called the Dr office to see if I needed a full bladder for the apt (as all the ultrasounds I've had, Ive had to drink a ton of water)The office told me that an ultrasound was not scheduled, and I was really sad. (I think that after being sick, I wanted to see the baby as a reassurance type thing) We got to the apt, did the normal weight thing (from what I can tell I have gained about 3 lbs) blood pressure (which is excellent) and then we went back into the room. The DR did the normal exams. He said he could definitely tell I was pregnant (Like by belly poking out isn't a big enough sign ha ha)I asked him about the cyst, and he said he didn't feel it as big as it should have been, but that he could still feel it. Then he said the magic words. "Lets do an ultrasound and see what we find" YAY!!!! a minute or two later, a little machine was brought into the room, and we were looking at our baby. (Or trying to) Boy, does our baby like to move all over the place! we couldn't get a great picture of the baby, but seeing it move so much was so exciting! I cant wait to feel them move!! The Dr also confirmed that Voldermort was still there, but he was in fact a lot smaller than he had been at the last ultrasound. The Dr said he wanted to do another ultrasound in 2 weeks. He thinks Voldermort will be gone by then! We have another apt with the Dr in 4 weeks. The Dr did move my due date back a day from what the nurse told me when she called me to tell me I was pregnant. The baby's estimated due date is now September 28, 2012. (I'm still hoping for October- Nobody in my family has a birthday in October (as in siblings and nieces and nephews on my side)

10 weeks 5 days

11 weeks 4 days

So our next ultrasound is Thursday 3/22. I'm super excited for that day. We get to see our baby again, And we see hunger games that night!!! I cant wait!!

On a sadder note, Rob's work wont let him have Easter weekend off, so our trip to Texas isn't going to happen, and I'm super sad about it (when rob told me, it was my first "pregnant lady emotional breakdown" I am really REALLY sad about it. Rob's mom, and Aunt Celine have told me to just come, and Rob said I could, but I have not decided yet If I want to be away from him. We will see.

The Dr told us that he doesn't want me traveling after 28 weeks (which is around July 6th) So the family trip to bear lake isn't going to happen, and that seems weird to me since we have gone for the past 3 years.

Rob and I are trying to think of a trip we can take before the (no fly zone) since we both want one last trip before the baby comes.

Other than that, I don't really know what else to say on here, so Im gonna say good bye. have a WONDERFUL night/day/time!

Im a survivor

Holy cow! where did the last 5 weeks go?!?! It seems like yesterday when we heard that we were pregnant. Crazy! Does all of pregnancy go this fast?

Nothing too exciting has happened since Valentines day. I ended up getting a cold, which turned into a sinus infection a few days later. It seems when you are pregnant, your cold symptoms are magnified by 10! Luckily, a few days after starting an antibiotic, I started feeling better. I still have a cough that feels like its broken my ribs, and taking deep breaths KILLS, but I got an inhaler as well, and that seems to be doing wonders. Now I am done with my 10 days of antibiotics, and I hope I don't get a cold again!

One semi weird thing(and tender mercy) about getting sick, is that mercifully, my morning sickness has eased up A LOT! I still feel nausea if I go too long without eating, but now my body seems to be getting the hang of this pregnancy thing!

Rob has been busy at work, which has taken some adjustments for me. Friday he worked 2PM-6AM. Saturday he worked 2PM-11PM. Sunday he worked 2PM-3AM. And Monday he worked 2PM-6AM. talk about BUSY! I hate sleeping alone!

I cant believe February is gone! I have no idea where the month went, but I am excited for the next month or so! here are a few things I'm looking forward to:

1-We have our first "official" doctors appointment on March 8th. We will get an update on Voldermort, and get to see and hear our baby's heartbeat! I cant wait!!

2-My cousin is doing a Bachelor finale party, and Im so excited (even though I cheated and already know who Ben picks) It will be super fun watching it with friends!

3-HUNGER GAMES!!! I am so excited for this movie! My sisters, their husbands, Dad, Rebecca, and Rob and I all have tickets to see a pre screening. "May the odds ever be in your favor!!!"

4-Rob and I will be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary on the 26th! I dont know what we are gonna do for it, but I'm excited!!

5-Easter weekend, (yes, I know it isn't in March, but close)Rob and I will be hopping on a plane and heading to Texas. I'm super excited to meet Rob's cousins baby (She is being blessed Easter Sunday)and seeing Robs family again! I freaking love them all!!

Also, since I have slacked, here are a few pictures!

Valentine

Rob and I kind of had an unspoken agreement to not do anything for valentines day. We were considering going to dinner with my sisters, but that was all.

When I was at the grocery store, I couldn't help but get him a card and a snickers, conversation hearts, and some kisses. When I got up for work, Rob was still in bed, so I put the stuff on the bed, kissed him goodbye, and headed off to work. I was having kind of a stressful day at work, and Rob and I were able to talk it through, and then I decided to go to the gym after work to kind of cool off and relax. When I got home to change, I saw a card, and this on the bed:

The Card and onzie were both super cute. I thanked rob, and he said to keep the tags on just in case we have a boy (we don't really want to put Baby Boy Carter in pink) It was so cute. (Rob has bought more baby stuff than I have-which I think is the cutest thing ever!)

We didn't really get to see each other, but the little surprises were really fun! and I think its funny that when we say we are not doing anything for a holiday, we both do a little something.

I couldn't have asked for a better husband. I am so excited to take the next steps with him, and growing together as we raise our children. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I feel immensely blessed to have him in my life. So many good things have come into my life as a result of him. I love him so much!

Voldermort update

The Ministry of Magic (AKA my doctors office) called me today to give me an update on He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. When I had my first ultrasound He-who-must-not-be named was 6.3CM. a week later, at my next ultrasound, He-who-must-not-be-named was 7.6CM!! This is not how its supposed to work. Its supposed to stay the same size, shrink, or go away, not get bigger!!! The Minister (Holly-the awesome nurse at my Dr office) told me that the doctor would like a follow up ultrasound 6 weeks following the last ultrasound to check up on it. Before that, Rob and I will have our first apt with the doctor. It is scheduled for March 8th, and I will be just shy of 11 weeks. She also gave me some recommendations for pain relievers that are safe to take with the baby, and If those didn't work, she would call in something a little stronger. I told her that The only time it was really painful was at night, since that is when I'm the sickest, and then I go to lie down and my back KILLS. She recommended a heating pad on that side. So I have done that. I really don't want to take anything for the pain, but on a few nights, its been really bad I have taken 1 Tylenol. but I hate doing that! So until our Dr apt, and the ultrasound, I just get to share my body with He-who-must-not-be-named. (just call me Quirinus Quirrell) In the meantime, I'm going to look into spells I can use to make He-who-must-not-be-named go away once in for all! (Positive thoughts our way would be great too!!)

Thank you for reading my oober geeky post. Have a wonderful day!!

5 Weeks

I now have a reason to update my blog at least once a week (although I didn't get a chance to take my picture last Friday- 6 weeks since Rob and I went to a hockey game that night)

As far as I'm feeling, I'm pretty tired all the time. Being in a car kind of makes me sick (which is kind of funny, because I have NEVER had problems in the car) I'm really sick at night. I was told to take my vitamin at night, and then sleep it off, but it seems like if I take it, even if I am feeling fine after dinner, if I take my vitamin, 20 minutes later I am throwing up. :( I cant sleep through the night either. I usually go to bed at 9. wake up when Rob calls me after work, or gets home. then I fall asleep again until about midnight, and cant sleep for an hour, and then I'm usually up at 7AM. No wonder I usually want a nap at work! ha ha I have pretty much gotten the pattern down for when to eat, and no my limits on when to eat and when to stop eating.

Here are my 5 week Photos (yes, I know, not much to look at, but I wanted to start early with the pictures!)

Surprise!

I knew I had a cyst, I was also late. I was late the Month before, so I called the doctor to see if we could start another round of permethrin. I took this back in August and it had worked in making me regular. I wanted to start another round so one, I would become regular again, and two, because it would make me start, since that is when cysts go away. This cyst was a lot worse than the one I had in October. I called my doctors office and told them about my suspicions of a cyst, and that I was no longer regular. I asked about the permetrium and they said I would need to do a blood pregnancy test first. I went in on Wednesday 01/25/2012. Was in so much pain that I called into work on Thursday. I hadn't slept well, and moving in Any kind of way was extremely painful. Rob and his brothers went snowboarding and I spent the morning in bed on my heating pad. At about noon the doctors office called me back and told me that I was pregnant. I couldn't believe it. She asked when my last period was, and I found out I would be 5 weeks the following day. I asked if the pain in my side was normal, and I told her that I was in a lot of pain the previous night. She put me on hold and went to talk to the doctor. She came back on the line and said they had scheduled an ultrasound for 2:30. They gave me the information on where the apt was. I tried just lying down until it was time to go to the apt. I was freaking out. I couldn't stop shaking. I wished rob was home so he could go to this apt with me, but with him up in the mountains I had no way to get a hold of him. When I got to the apt, I filled out the paperwork, downed one more bottle of water to ensure I had a full bladder (as if me going to the bathroom 100 times that day and the day before) I laid down on the table, and the tech was super nice. She explained what she was looking for, and what everything was as it came up on the screen. She found the cyst immediately. I said "oh great, there it is." She asked what I meant and I told her that this was my 2nd cyst. She explained to me that seeing the cyst was a good sign, since the doctor thought the pains in my side could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. (thank you doctor for not telling me that on the phone or I would have freaked out even more) she then explained that she couldnt see anything in my uterus, but that I shouldn't worry, since I was early, that was normal. She then explained that she wanted to do a vaginal ultrasound, because through that, they maybe able to see the sac. As I changed, I was completely nervous and wished rob was with me, but I also thought it would be awesome to tell rob I was pregnant with a picture as proof. We did the ultrasound, and sure enough we saw a sac!! It was tiny, and just a little black sac (about 50 times smaller than the cyst by the way) I asked the tech if I could get a Picture of Both the cyst, and the sac that was going to be the home of our baby for the next 8 months) when I got home, I got robs present together, and divised my plan for telling him. (Almost 2 years ago, when I was shopping with robs mom and sister, we were at carters, and I found a little onsie that was baseball pinstripe, and said daddy's all star, and a baseball on the bum. I couldn't help it, I had to buy it. I put it away and prayed rob would never find it. Robs sister Kim also got us some dodger binkies when we were in cali back in June. I put those in a gift bag.) I took nap, and then when rob got home from snowboarding, and the boys went home. I was looking at the cyst picture and he asked what it was. I told him what it was and we talked about it a little bit. After that, he was putting his snowboard stuff away and when he went back into the living room, I took him the present, and had the baby ultrasound in my hand. He asked what it was, and who it was from. I told him to open it. He did, and seemed rather confused, so I gave him the picture, and told him what it was. He was silent for about 5 minutes and then said something like "s@&$, are we really having a baby?" I told him yes. I gave him a few minutes to let it settle in, and then he asked questions like "what does it mean with the cyst" "is it safe" "where are you due?" etc. Throughout the night, I kept asking rob how he was doing. He didn't think it seems real.

Now, to answer a few questions you may be having.

As of right now, I am due september 28, 2012.

As far as the cyst goes, they are not overly worried, they said I am in more pain this time, because the cyst is bigger than last time, and my uterus is growing, so there is more pain. But the cyst should pop or go away on its own. It will be painful, but it shouldn't effect the baby.

All in all, I am semi overwhelmed, and extremely greatful for this opportunity. I'm excited to welcome our baby into this world!!

As for how I've been feeling, very tired, I don't sleep through the night due to constant bathroom interruptions. I feel naseaus throughout the day, and it's the worst at night. I can't seem to keep dinner and my vitamin down.

Rob and I have nicknamed the baby our "bean" since the sac looks like a bean. I will upload the ultrasound picture but I can't do it on the iPad.

Rob and I got to go last thursday feb 2 to another ultrasound to check on both the cyst and the baby. Nothing has changed with the cyst. It's still the same size. Hopefully it goes away soon. We also got to see our little beans heartbeat! It was 108 bpm and going strong. It was such a cool thing to see and I can't wait to see our little bean grow!!!!
